Abamectin is a fermentation product of soil microorganisms. The product penetrates the plant tissue (translaminar action) and its effect on the insect is primarily through the digestive system. Abamectin acts on the insect's nervous system; it stimulates the release of GABA and its binding to nerve cells. This action blocks the nerve impulse, leading to rapid paralysis of the insect or mite. Insects and mites lose their mobility shortly after exposure to Agriron. Mortality occurs 4 to 7 days after spraying. It is recommended to spray Agriron during the morning, evening, or night hours.
